Description

Dune

New Year´s Eve 1999/2000 I chose to paint. Survival suit and coffee on the thermo. And a flashlight with a daylight filter. Camera on a tripod. Shutter open for exposure while I walked around in the motiv painting it up from ´black´ with light from the flashlight, shielding the light from the lens with my body. Very similar in a reverse mode to build up a black and white print with the burning method. Many hours of testing the exposure needed on color slide daylight film. And then a bucket full of gut feeling. This picture took around 45 minutes to paint up. A view from Skansehagen across the sea to the shore of Hundested. A good spot for Sea Trout fishing by the way.

The photograph is hand signed and dated on the mat (passepartout) by Jesper Sø.
The frame is made in Denmark using FSC certified wood (wood from sustainable forestry) and arrives to you without glass. Not because of the easier shipping, but because I believe photographs should be enjoyed without the visual disturbing light reflections on the glass.
The mat (passepartout) is cut from PH neutral carton.
The digital print is made on Fujicolor Crystal Archive Paper Supreme. As the name suggests it has good archival abilities. That being said, nothing stays unmarked of time and light, so the image has a sort of build in change over time, as any other photographic image has.
